Hi,

I've downloaded the latest source code and have been looking at the templating test. I've tried opening the resources\tempate.pptx file for editing and unfortunately the ppt creation fails after I save the file. Is there any detail in how to create the template file? The the errors I see are pasted below, I will continue to try work this out but any pointers would be appreciated.

There's currently no alternative out there, and way too less time to work on this project. I am monitoring the discussion board, but do not have more time to continue development at present.

I noticed this has not been worked on in quite some time. I just wanted to see if it's still in active development. If not, is there a better project out there to start from? I am having a very difficult time figuring out how to generate pptx files programmatically with PHP code without relying on Windows COM, so I just wanted to check here before I go down the path of trying to use PHPPowerPoint.

Created Issue: Slide Templates are not working properly. [3956]

Changing the slide template type from BLANK to any other layout still displays the slide as BLANK unless manually doing a 'slide reset' on each slide after the presentation has been created.
You can go rightclick->layout on the slide and see that the layout states it is set to the new layout.
You can go rightclick->reset slide which will then display the proper template fields for the slide layout.

Ive enclosed a sample pptx that accurately replicates the issue.

Hello,

Currently Slide.php sets $_slideLayout = PHPPowerPoint_Slide_Layout::BLANK; . I want to add a different kind of layout such as Comparison or Content with Caption.

I changed private $_slideLayout = PHPPowerPoint_Slide_Layout::PICTURE_WITH_CAPTION and tried passing PHPPowerPoint_Slide_Layout::PICTURE_WITH_CAPTION to public function setSlideLayout(); but nothing changes...

How do i add a slide with a different layout than BLANK?

I want to say if it possible with this library to create a powerpoint graphic ( histogram, etc...). I have read the documentation but I don't find any functions for make this !It's imposible?

Created Issue: Table width setting Office 2007 [3910]

When creating a new table, even though a value is being passed to the setWidth method this property does not appear to be set when viewing the ppt in MS Office 2007 PowerPoint. In OpenOffice Simpress this doesn't appear to be a problem.

Created Issue: Generated files cannot be opened in Office 08 for Mac OSX [3424]

The date format used in the document properties is different from that used by Powerpoint itself, and Office for OSX cannot open the files.

The Created and Modified date should be written in DocProps.php like this:

This is a very, very useful library. It is a pity there is no activity in last several months.

I am having the same problem. If anyone was able to generate a shape with solid background color please post a code sample.

Hello !

I know its an early Alpha-version, but isn't it possible with the existing functions to generate a solid background-color or a gradient on a shape?

I tried this, but my shapes are always none-filled (transparent):

$shape = new PHPPowerPoint_Shape_RichText();
$shape->setWidth(900);
$shape->setHeight(100);
$shape->setOffsetX(10);
$shape->setOffsetY(120);
$textRun = $shape->createText('Foo Bar');
$shape->getFill()->setFillType(PHPPowerPoint_Style_Fill::FILL_SOLID);

How to put a jpgraph image into phppowerpoint.

I can retreive the image handler, but using the PHPPowerPoint_Shape_MemoryDrawing class results in an pptx that is not correct.
After renaming the pptx to zip, i see that the image is made, but has a size of 277, which is not more than the handler resource id.

$handleGrafiek = $graph->Stroke(_IMG_HANDLER);

$shape = new PHPPowerPoint_Shape_MemoryDrawing();
$shape->setName('Grafiek');
$shape->setDescription('Grafiek');
$shape->setImageResource($handleGrafiek);
$shape->setRenderingFunction(PHPPowerPoint_Shape_MemoryDrawing::MIMETYPE_PNG);
$shape->setMimeType(PHPPowerPoint_Shape_MemoryDrawing::MIMETYPE_DEFAULT);
$shape->setHeight(36);
$shape->setOffsetX(10);
$shape->setOffsetY(10);
$currentSlide->addShape($shape);

Please can anybody help me with this issue?

Hey,
I run the runall test in Linux and had a problem with the CLasses/PHPPowerpoint.php as it is also called PHPPowerPoint.php. i solved the problem by creating a a copy PHPPowerPoint.php of PHPPowerpoint.php.

A question:
what is the file '03serialized.phppt' used for? It is created in third test '03serialized'.

Hey, I have tried the tests in Linux and had a slight problem with casing. The script Classes/PHPPowerpoint.php is also called Classes/PHPPowerPoint.php. I solved the problem by make a copy PHPPowerPoint.php of PHPPowerpoint.php. Now I will try to generate some barcharts with overlayed histograms from a mysql database. Hopefully I be able to generate slideshows with key performance indicators as attachments to mails along with the base data in Excel sheets. Wish me luck :)

Hello.

This might be a stupid question, but I was wondering if there is some way to view the slides on-screen, before saving a newly created slideshow.

I mean: I have an instance of the class PHPPowerPoint in my script; Instead of creating a Writer and saving it to a file, can I just dump the object to the output, in HTML+CSS+AJAX format or something like that?

I had a problem using the 'less than' and 'greater than' symbols in the text slides. This is because they are converted to their HTML entities by htmlspecialchars in the file:

phppowerpoint\PHPPowerPoint\Writer\PowerPoint2007\Slide.php line 497

If you remove the htmlspecialchars call and replace the writeRaw with writeCData (http://php.net/manual/en/function.xmlwriter-write-cdata.php) this issue is solved.

making line 497: $objWriter->writeCData(PHPPowerPoint_Shared_String::ControlCharacterPHP2OOXML( $element->getText() ));
